Grimsby Junior Netball Club
Welcome to our junior netball club, where we are dedicated to fostering the development of young players.
We conduct weekly sessions at Oasis Wintringham, designed to support and inspire junior players on their netball journey. Our goal is to create a positive and engaging environment where young players can learn, grow and develop their skills and confidence.
So what do I need to know?
Training is open to secondary school years 7 to 11, girls only.
When:- Thursday Under 14 - 17:30 – 18:15 14 and over - 18:15 - 19:00 (Term time only)
Where:- Oasis Wintringham School, Weelsby Avenue, Grimsby, DN32 0AZ.
We have access to both indoor and outdoor courts so sessions take place whatever the weather.
Price:- £3 per child. Due to being so popular, at times we may have a waiting list, but don’t let this put you off. We review the list on a continuous basis, so when space becomes available we will contact you to see if still interested – please complete the form in the section below so we have your details to enable us to do this.
We have close links with the Grimsby District Senior League and many of our Junior players have successfully progressed to join teams within the league.
To be able to play in the GDSNL, players must be 14 years old, in Year 10 and be playing to a high standard.
How to start
All new participants MUST complete a form otherwise you cannot train with us. This is important with regards to emergency contact details, health related issues, safety and safeguarding. Link to form:

Alongside this our Junior members must be affiliated to England Netball. There is an annual fee of £17.20 per junior player. The membership with England Netball covers insurances as well as access to further training and opportunities. Please follow the link:

What next
Wait to hear from us when space becomes available.
You will get a link to our SPOND app which gives you all the details you need. You will receive an invitation for every session. Please make sure to respond. We need to know how many players are attending each week so we can plan accordingly. We also need a register for safeguarding purposes.
Meet the coaches/helpers
Kate, Janine, Jo and Victoria who have over 96 years of netball experience between them.
• Kate is the level 2 coach
• Janine is the level 1 coach
• Jo and Victoria support the coaches and are working towards their level 1 coaching qualification.
We are all first aid trained and hold DBS certificates.
Safeguarding Officer
Victoria Gardner is our Safeguarding Officer. She is regularly available at training sessions. Her details will be on SPOND when you are signed up. For any safeguarding questions or concerns please contact her directly.
Tops
There is an option to order t-shirts and jumpers with Girl's initials on. There is no obligation to purchase these. However, if you would like to, please click on link below: https://www.3qsports.co.uk/grimsby-district-netball-club
Umpiring
Any EN registered member can apply for an Into Officiating Online Course from age 13. This is the first step into umpiring. There is a cost which is set by EN. The test is usually arranged locally by the GDSNL Umpiring Secretary who we can put you in touch with. There are plenty of chances to practice within the Junior Setting.
The Into Officiating Courses are set by EN and are advertised when open to register (usually twice a year). Please feel free to message with any questions or see any of the coaches at Junior Training.
Extra activities
We do try and arrange friendly matches with other teams when the time allows.
As we work closely with GDSNL – you are also invited to participate in other events such as charity bingo when they arise.
